Most conference organizers don’t care about diversity or cannot see the problem. Still, I believe that not having a diverse speakers’ lineup is a big issue for a conference and its attendees.

I’m trying to avoid those situations, saying no to invitations to such kinds of events, unless I know that the organizers have tried their best to avoid the situation.

Being a conference organizer myself, I know that sometimes it’s difficult to have a good mix of speakers. You directly invite people that you know, you ask many tech organizations to help you spread the voice, but sometimes it simply impossible.

Before giving up, you should try everything because it’s worth the effort.

If you’ve done your best job, I’ll be part of the event; otherwise, I’m not sure it’s a good thing being on that list, and that’s speaking from experience!

Sometimes people say that gender is not important; talent is. I don’t necessarily agree. Having many different views is more important than having few great views!

If you don’t know where to start, I’ve already discussed some topics like “having a good set of indicators of success“, and “having a Code of Conduct“.
